My Job Costs Too Much

Seriously, I can't afford this job anymore.

I just bought a new passenger side window, because the ice storm destroyed it: $250 Gas costs me $30 every day. The lease costs $122 a week. Insurance costs $75 a week.

The heating coil leaks, so I spend $15 a week refilling the radiator fluid. The radio and dash plug doesn't work. There's a hole in the roof. Two of my amber side lights are out. The cab light and the cube overhead light doesn't work. One of the hi-beams is out. The windshield is cracked (I already got a $75 ticket for that). The safety inspection sticker is expired (I have already gotten a $75 for that, as well). And it badly needs an oil change and new oil filter.

To top it all off, the Xmas season is very slow for the air-freight industry. Here I was thinking that it followed the same pattern as the messenger industry. Fuck. I am dreaming of a new truck -- perhaps my cube van will get smashed by a train or plane (those things really come close to the highways out there).

Wait a second. Fuck a new truck. Fuck trucking. I just want to get a job writing.
