My ass hurts.
Really, it does. I've been sitting at my computer desk for the last week straight, it seems. The webcopy job is more tedious than I could have possibly imagined, and the editors keep tacking on more requirements, such that I haven't completed a single article yet, and thus cannot invoice them for payment.
Monday was my last for the semester, and I feel fucking exhausted. I think that was my last full-time semester - if I do the Semester in L.A. program in the spring, it'll only be 5 weeks. Then maybe I'll stay in L.A.
Look at this website! Isn't it great? That's good news item one - after weeks of struggling to understand ModX, I deleted it completely and installed Drupal, which I've always been afraid of before. But as you can see, if you just follow the little online guides and tutorials, it'll work out fine.
News item two - I scored a freelance gig writing web copy. I get paid per article I write on Chicago neighborhoods. I get to work from home, which is nice, but working from home has so many more distractions than sitting in an office.
I've posted some exerpts of unpublished work. Some of it could stand some revision, but I'm pretty happy about the pieces overall.Take a look! I'll be filling out the Illustration and Music section soon, once I get the content ready for upload.
